Octet announced that Dan Falcon joined its sales team as Assistant Vice President of Sales after three years of private consulting in the transaction processing industry.
Before his work as a consultant, Dan served as a Corporate Account Executive with First Data Merchant Services. Dan achieved and earned several awards for outstanding sales effort and performance during his six years of employment within First Data.
"Dan's integrity and customer focus will bring Octet many new and satisfied clients" said Executive Vice President Ashraf Ebid, "When we worked together at First Data, Dan always impressed me with his ability to understand technology and to easily apply superb solutions to First Data's clients."
Dan is also the founder and Webmaster for NewportCity.com, a news and information web site. He maintains this project for the purpose of contributing to the community in which he lives.
At Octet, Dan is responsible for bringing in new clients, and assisting with the overall marketing and sales objectives.
It was also announced that Serge Karas is joining Octet as a VP of Marketing after 2 years with 10x10.com in a CEO capacity. While at 10x10.com, Serge applied his intimate knowledge of the Silicon Alley and creative marketing expertise in a company positioning effort, and served as a company "front-end" for new media industry and VC community, striking channel partnerships and establishing alliances with major industry players and associations.
Before his work at 10x10.com Inc., Serge served as an executive VP at DOTsurvey Technology, an online market research and marketing technology provider. DOTsurvey was used in a New Media Industry Climate Survey 2001 conducted by PriceWhaterhouseCoopers on behalf of New York New Media Association.
"Serge's knowledge of Silicon Alley, extensive experience in new media and online marketing space will be of immense value as Octet expands its service offering and acquires new clients," Octet CEO Tatiana Aleksa said in a statement.
Serge Karas will be responsible for the management and coordination of online marketing campaigns, leads generation, pre-sale activities, raising Octet's profile in the media and within VC community.
